E Course Information

USSF 'E' Coaching Certification Course
Fee: $100.00 for coaches affiliated with AYSA

The 'E'' certification course consists of eighteen (18) hours of instruction which includes and a written exam. This course normally includes three and one-half (3½) hours of theory (theory of tactics, methods, team management, Laws of the Game, injuries) and thirteen (13) hours of practical (components of soccer-fitness, technique, tactics, principles of defense, goalkeeping, set plays, functional practice, coaching practice and critique). The emphasis is towards the teaching of player 6 -12 years of age.

D Course Information

USSF 'D' Coaching Certification Course
Fee: $200.00 for coaches affiliated with AYSA

The 'D'' certification course is a continuation of the E course and offers more advance training in all areas. It consists of thirty-six (36) hours of instruction. This course normally includes seven (7) hours of theory, 21-25 hours of practical, and a four-hour exam, written and practical. The emphasis of the 'D' course is geared towards the coaching of players 13 years of age and older. Coaches can receive either a state D license or a National D license. Only coaches who receive the National D License will be accepted in the C license course.

Additional E/D Course information

E/D course days will generally be 9:00 am to 6:30 pm w/ lunch, 12-1:30.  Daily schedules and facility information will be emailed or sent one week prior to the course.  Required reading is necessary for the D Course.  The info is available for download below:

Coaches signing up for the D course must take the E course as a prerequisite.  E  waivers are granted based on playing and coaching experience, please contact Frank Trovato at email below.  Coaches must hold a license for one year before taking the next level course. Candidates must attend all of the above dates and times to pass course. Missed course time may be made up at any course. Many clubs in the state offer assistance in fee payment, check with your coaching dir., admin. or board.  

 A minimum of 10 coaches (any combo of E or D candidates) must register to conduct the E/D course.
If fewer than 10 D candidates register for a given course, the D course will take place only Sat. Sun. and Mon. and the state D license will be issued. To complete the National D, those coaches must complete the training at another course with 10 or more D candidates.

Fundamentally, only coaches wishing to obtain the National C course will need to go on and complete the National D Course, it is a prerequisite for the C. The D course information is the same when earning the State or National D.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE COURSE START DATE
